Our values
Empathy in action: We actively extend our hands and hearts to those traumatized by vehicle accidents and theiur families with compassion, dignity, and respect. Our work is rooted in the belief that no one affected by a serious traffic crash should feel forgotten or alone.
Safety as a shared responsibility: Safer roads require all of us: drivers, families, schools, employers, community leaders, and public safety partners. We promote education and awareness that help people make safer choices behind the wheel and on the road.
Responsible AI and technology: We supports ethical AI enabled education, data tools, and research partnerships that may help improve traffic safety, and driver assistance awareness. We keep people, privacy, and safety at the center of innovation.
Survivor centered support: Recovery after a serious crash can be physically, emotionally, and financially difficult. We help survivors and families access practical resources, information, and pathways to support.
Researches and innovations: Traumatic brain injury and memory loss can change a survivor’s life long after the crash. We support education, awareness, and research efforts that may improve understanding, treatment, and recovery.
Community and inclusion: Traffic crashes affect people across every background and community. We listen to diverse experiences, honor survivor voices, and build partnerships that make safety and support more accessible.
Transparency and trust: We are committed to using donations responsibly, honoring donor intent, protecting donor privacy, and reporting our progress clearly.
Our vision
“Safer Roads Now” envisions a future where fewer lives are changed by preventable traffic crashes and every survivor has access to support, dignity, and hope. As an initiative of Safety Behind the Wheel Foundation, we work to make roads safer through education, responsible innovation, better safety policy, survivor support, and greater awareness and research of traumatic brain injury and memory loss.
We believe traffic safety improves when communities are informed, technology is used responsibly, and safety standards keep pace with change. Through education, Safer Roads Now helps drivers, families, schools, employers, and community partners better understand the choices that can prevent crashes, including avoiding distracted driving, reducing speed, preventing impaired driving, using seat belts, recognizing driver fatigue, and protecting pedestrians and cyclists.
We also support the thoughtful development and use of AI enabled tools that can help make transportation safer. These may include personalized safety education, crash risk awareness tools, driver assistance education, distracted driving prevention, self driving safety research, and data tools that help identify patterns in crashes and injuries. As self driving systems, driver assistance features, and other AI powered technologies become more common, we believe clear rules, transparency, public education, and strong safety standards are essential to protect everyone on the road.
A serious crash can affect every part of a person’s life. Safer Roads Now helps crash survivors and families find practical resources, trusted information, and pathways to support as they navigate recovery. We recognize that recovery can be physical, emotional, financial, and deeply personal, and we believe no survivor or family should feel forgotten or alone.
Traumatic brain injury and memory loss can change a survivor’s life long after the crash. Safer Roads Now supports education, research awareness, and responsible innovation that may improve understanding of TBI related memory challenges and long term recovery. By supporting research partnerships, educational resources, and responsible technology, we aim to help create better pathways for healing, adaptation, and hope.
We envision a growing community where survivors are heard, families are supported, and partners work together to reduce traffic harm. By honoring lived experience and building strong partnerships, Safer Roads Now helps turn personal stories into collective action. Together, we can advance safer roads, stronger recovery, and a future where fewer families experience the life changing impact of traffic injuries.
